You may have heard or read that Los Angeles shelters are no kill shelters. This is false information. All Los Angeles county shelters are kill shelters, especially Baldwin Park, Carson, Downey and Lancaster where up to 60% of cats that enter the shelter are killed. Since BLACK CATS are the least likely to be adopted and are more likely to be overlooked, they make up a very large percentage of those cats that are killed.
